2024 Fora Bagarre Tai Rosso
$49.00
The 2024 Fora Bagarre Tai Rosso was a surprisingly good discovery. A Friday afternoon at Cicci Wine Bar, thanks to Peter’s recommendation to explore this indigenous Italian grape. Stylistically, it sits somewhere between Pinot Noir and Grenache, combining elegant fruit with a little extra generosity and warmth. What stood out most was the balance between tannins and acidity, giving the wine structure without sacrificing drinkability.
It’s always fun to discover something new, especially when it introduces you to a lesser-known grape with so much character. For Trent, this was a reminder that some of the most rewarding wine discoveries come from stepping outside the familiar and letting someone else’s recommendation lead the way.
About Fora Wines
Fora Wines is a small, independent natural wine project founded by friends Giovanni Bottazzi and Simone Fanton in Veneto, northern Italy. Based in the Colli Berici hills near Nanto, the winery focuses on rediscovering local grape varieties and expressing the character of its surrounding landscape. The team works with indigenous grapes, including Garganega and Tai Rosso, using hand harvesting and spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. Furthermore, their minimal-intervention approach aims to preserve the natural character of each vintage. Fora Wines produces distinctive, expressive wines that reflect a close connection between people, vines and soil.
2024 Bagarre Tai Rosso
The 2024 Fora Bagarre Tai Rosso is a red wine made from 100% Tai Rosso, an indigenous grape variety grown in the Colli Berici hills of Veneto, northern Italy. According to Fora Wines’ technical sheet, the grapes are hand-harvested, fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in stainless steel tanks. The vineyard’s calcareous soils contribute to the wine’s sense of place. At 13% alcohol, this vintage is designed to be enjoyed at around 16°C. The producer recommends pairing it with local sopressa salami and Asiago cheese.
