2018 Gibson Bin 70 Shiraz
$345.00
Some wines stay with you because of the experience that surrounds them. The 2018 Gibson Bin 70 Shiraz was one of those wines. We tasted it at the Good Food and Wine Show and met Adam Gibson. The wine immediately impressed us with its richness and balance. Blackberry, plum and spice filled the palate. Fine tannins gave the wine structure and elegance. Meeting Adam made the experience even more memorable. The Bin 70 reminded us that great wines are often defined by both the bottle and the people behind it.
About Gibson Wines
Gibson Wines is a family-owned winery in the Barossa Valley. The winery was founded in 1996 by viticulturist, geologist and winemaker Rob Gibson. Rob is affectionately known as “The Dirtman” because of his fascination with soils and vineyards. He built Gibson Wines on the belief that great wine begins in the ground. Today, the winery remains proudly family owned and operated. Rob, Anne and son Adam continue to champion authentic Barossa wines. The portfolio is led by Shiraz and showcases generosity, balance and regional character. Every bottle reflects the family’s deep connection to the Barossa.
2018 Bin 70 Shiraz
The 2018 Bin 70 Shiraz shows a deep red-purple colour. The nose is subtle and complex. Aromas of vanilla bean, cinnamon and ripe red berries rise from the glass. The palate is bright, lively and beautifully balanced. Flavours of pomegranate and red fruits bring freshness and energy. Citrus acidity provides tension and length. Complex savoury notes are beginning to emerge with time in bottle. The finish is graceful and persistent. This is a Shiraz with charm and finesse. It offers elegance and restraint that are rarely seen in Australia.
