The 2023 Domaine Naturaliste Artus Chardonnay is a seriously impressive Margaret River Chardonnay.
In the glass, it’s a beautiful golden straw colour. On the nose, there’s reductiveness and struck match straight away. Then comes ripe nectarine, with a subtle yoghurt character.
It’s complex, savoury and immediately intriguing. And the palate tastes exactly like it smells. There’s a more Old World feel to this Chardonnay. Creamed honey and stone fruits bring richness and depth.
The acidity keeps everything fresh, balanced and beautifully focused. There’s texture, complexity and plenty of character here.
It’s layered without feeling heavy or overworked. The finish is long, savoury and incredibly satisfying. And honestly, it’s absolutely delicious.

Domaine Naturaliste is a Margaret River winery based in Wilyabrup, Western Australia. The winery was established by renowned winemaker Bruce Dukes.
Bruce launched Domaine Naturaliste after nearly three decades working with Margaret River producers.
The estate vineyard sits in the heart of Wilyabrup. Its gravelly loam soils and maritime climate provide ideal growing conditions. The focus is on classic Margaret River varieties and site expression.
Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah form the core range. Bruce approaches winemaking with a strong understanding of soils and sustainable farming. His philosophy begins in the vineyard, with healthy soils and balanced vines.

2023 Artus Chardonnay
The 2023 Domaine Naturaliste Artus Chardonnay is a standout Margaret River Chardonnay from Wilyabrup. Made from Gin Gin clone fruit, it delivers impressive concentration, texture and complexity.
The nose opens with fresh nectarine and poached pear aromas. There are layers of marzipan, candied pecan and subtle savoury oak.
The palate is rich, creamy and beautifully textured. Grapefruit and lemon curd provide freshness and drive through the palate. Creamed honey, toasted vanilla and nutty characters add further complexity.
There is plenty of structure beneath the richness. Bright acidity keeps the wine fresh and focused through the finish.
Subtle flinty and struck-match notes add another layer of complexity.
The French oak is generous but well integrated. It brings savoury spice and texture without overwhelming the fruit.
